In Western Pennsylvania, neighbors are always helping each other out. At Parkview Federal Credit Union, we carry on that tradition with our community outreach. It's all part of our "people helping people" philosophy.

Raising money for charity. Providing valuable services in the community. Sponsoring school events and other activities. We don’t just serve the Greater Pittsburgh area. We’re part of it.

Every year, PCFCU chooses one charity to focus on. However, this year Parkview decided to choose two local charities in the general area of both the McKeesport and North Huntingdon Locations. In 2020 our “Charities of the Year” were Circleville Volunteer Fire Department and The McKeesport Agape Center. Parkview, as well as its members, raised $4,185.79 to be split between these two organizations. 

The Circleville Volunteer Fire Department was organized in 1947 and is centrally located in North Huntingdon Township. PCFCU decided to donate half the proceeds we raised to Circleville this year because the volunteer fire department, as well as others, weren’t able to facilitate their normal fundraising events in a world reeling from COVID. VFD’s depend on fundraising to help them purchase life-saving tools and resources to assist them during their calls and for this reason we felt our support was crucial. 

The McKeesport Agape Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to show love to people in need. The center provides food to people in need who reside in MASD (McKeesport Area School District) communities. The center saw a huge increase in the requests for food during the pandemic. They were able to meet this increase through generous support from the community. The center plans to continue providing food for the foreseeable future and the support of PCFCU will help them do that. 

In addition to raising money for our Charities of the Year, we also helped other local organizations. In the midst of the pandemic, we wanted to show our financial heroes how much we appreciate their hard work. We sent lunch to some of our surrounding FIs (PNC White Oak, S&T White Oak, Triboro FCU Munhall, United Community FCU Wilmerding, and WM, and Norwin Teachers FCU) to thank them for their dedication as they worked on the front lines. We were also able to team up with The Lamp Theater to have Pop- Up Popcorn Fridays in an effort to raise money for the not-for-profit organization. PCFCU also provided bags to the NAACP McKeesport Unit for care packages distributed to the students of McKeesport with essentials for COVID learning. 

We also donated (money, gift cards, sponsorships, baskets, and more) to many local organizations throughout the year that includes: McKeesport Area High School Musical, Relay for Life, Norwin Chamber Excellence in Education, Norwin Lions Club Kitty Sack Challenge, Norwin Rotary Chili Cookoff, Liberty Boro Atheltic Association, East Allegheny School District, and The Norwin Alumni & Friends Association. We will continue and look forward to supporting the communities we serve all throughout 2021!
